Cockroach Control

The sight of a cockroach in your house is very unsettling and where there is one there are generally many, as they are prolific breeders. Cockroaches need food, water and harbourage to survive and will eat almost anything including waste, faecal matter and other dead cockroaches. Their habitat is generally around heating ducts, pipes, stoves, sinks, under fridges but especially humid areas and they carry a number of diseases harmful to humans. When foraging for food and water, Cockroaches can contaminate food, utensils, and preparation surfaces as they go, so they need to be dealt with quickly and professionally so please call us for quick and effective treatment

There are two main species of cockroach found in the UK and these are

The German cockroach and the Oriental cockroach

The German cockroach is yellow/brown and between 12-15 mm whilst the Oriental cockroach is dark brown and between 17-30 mm

Clues to suggest you may have an infestation are

  • The sighting of live or dead cockroaches

  • Empty shell cases from hatched eggs

  • Black coffee granule shaped specs

  • An unpleasant strong smell

When foraging for food and water, Cockroaches are excellent climbers and can contaminate food, utensils, and preparation surfaces as they move around
